ECO – FRIENDLY TECH POWER
Saving the nature plus saving the pocket by using a natural and clean energy source
This Project was conceptualized to overcome acute power shortages, or “No-Power” situation in the remote branches of Bank Of India. Acute power shortages led to a stand still work culture. Customer Services was greatly affected and business growth had become stagnant. Generating power through generators was not eco-friendly, but hazardous and generating conventional power was un-economical as the kerosene, diesel or petrol required for running the generators was a burden for the branch and wasn’t easily available.
With the Implementation of Solar Power the bank has overcome these problems. As a solution to this problem, solar power was used to charge the UPSs used by the branches. The Solar Plant not only provides power to the UPSs to charge but it also provides power for the lights in the branches.
Key challenge faced in this deployment were of a different kind obtaining road permits in a scheduled time frame for transportation of equipment; since many branches were leased, then obtaining permission from landlord to install solar panels on roof; finally ensuring that rooftops were made of RCC to bear the load of equipment being Installed.

Other Banks should follow the same pattern like India's Biggest Bank - SBI, PNB, Union Bank, ICICI and other banks.
This will make the TATA - BP product cheap and avilable in the market. This is must for Rural Areas.
